favorite food and a really cool conference

(we had asked him if he eats mostly rice or noodles there....)

Still eat a lot of rice stuff over here, usually something on top of the rice.  Absolute favorite food here is Katsudon, or pieces of pork cutlets friend and put on rice, with egg, onion and some really tasty sauce.  I plan to learn how to make it and then when I come back, treat you all to real Japanese cuisine.

The Elder Bednar conference was really cool.  It was 1 hour of him asking us what we learned from the talks he asked us to read, with people volunteering to talk about it and then him helping them think deeper about it.  Then it was 2 hours of Q/A, where the first guideline he gave for that was "whatever question you have written down to ask, forget about it", then just taught us how to ask inspired questions.

longest thus far.....

I've been in this area for a while, longest thus far.  I really hope that I'm still a help to this area.  Tomorrow is the big day for the Bednar Conference (Elder Bednar from the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles traveled to Japan to meet with members and missionaries).  Probably get alot of revelation on how to best help this area.

The work is going fairly well.  We have two baptismal dates at the moment, one might not make their date, but the other seems well on his way.  His date is November 27th, so still a little ways away, and we haven't done commandments yet, but still seems good.  He enjoys church.

all except one... (mail from Oct 4th)

This past week we tried to visit a bunch of less actives, but none of them were home.  Then we tried to ask some different city halls about putting up posters for English class and got turned down by all except one.  This week we put up the posters and try bringing more people to the church.
